Do you have a question you’d like to put to the Mornington and Nepean candidates ahead of the November 26 state election? Well, here’s your chance. Mornington Peninsula Shire is hosting two community election forums at which candidates will share their vision for the Peninsula and address issues affecting their electorates and the wider region.
You will have the opportunity to attend the forums and can submit questions for the candidates, which Mornington Peninsula Mayor Anthony Marsh will put to them on your behalf when he chairs both forums.
The Nepean forum will be held on Thursday, November 10, from 6.30-8.30pm at Memorial Hall, 994 Point Nepean Rd, Rosebud. The candidates include Independent Charelle Ainslie, Labor’s Chris Brayne, the Greens’ Esther Gleixner, the Liberals’ Sam Groth, and Independent Elizabeth Woolcock.
The Mornington forum will be held on Friday, November 11, from 6.30-8.30pm at Mornington Park Pavilion, 9 Flinders Drive, Mornington. The candidates include the Liberals’ Chris Crewther, Labor’s Georgia Fowler, Independent Dr Kate Lardner, the Freedom Party’s Paul Pettitt, and the Greens’ Harry Sinclair.
You can reserve your seat, submit a question, or request the livestream link when you register for the Nepean forum or the Mornington forum . A video recording will be made available after the forums.
Cr Marsh said the forums were an excellent opportunity to learn what each candidate had planned for the Peninsula if elected. “As a council, we are asking candidates to consider funding and support for our 10 key advocacy priorities, including affordable housing, Rosebud hospital redevelopment, road safety, and protecting our coastline.”
