Schoolies festival returns to Rye foreshore

Food trucks, markets and a cracking line-up of bands will see Peninsula students celebrate the end of school in style at the Rye foreshore next month. Peninsula Schoolies 2022, on the weekend of November 26-27, will be followed by a week of  activities and well-being support for school-leavers.

Last year’s festival attracted 7000 school-leavers, and Mornington Peninsula Shire says it and event producer Hardware Group are building on that blueprint for a “well-structured” 2022 iteration. Bands include Peking Duk, Hermitude, Late Night Tuff Guy, Northeast Party House, Ruby Fields, and Peninsula up-and-comers Teenage Dads, pictured.

“Schoolies is a longstanding tradition and a rite of passage for school-leavers,” the shire said. “The Rye foreshore is the perfect place for schoolies to make lasting memories, shake off the pressures of their final year at school and dance the night away in a safe and age-appropriate environment. Our Youth Services, DanceWize and dedicated Red Frog volunteers will be on standby to provide direct relief safety and support to young people during the festival and select well-being activities across the whole week. We are in contact with local businesses and residents and we’re looking forward to working with our community to build on the excitement and success from last year.”

Peninsula Schoolies 2022 tickets cost $79.95 for a single day and $139.95 for a weekend pass. Proof of age and school ID is required. For the full line-up and to buy tickets, visit @peninsulaschoolies on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok or click . The event is for 2022 school-leavers only.
