Expressions of interest are invited for a food and hospitality business at the Frankston Yacht Club building.
Frankston City Council has served up a tasty opportunity for restaurateurs at a breathtaking beachside location, inviting expressions of interest for a food and hospitality business at the Frankston Yacht Club building.
Architect Gregory Burgess, who designed Peninsula Hot Springs and the refurbishment of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, took inspiration from the club’s natural setting within the coastal tea-tree and banksia dunes next to Kananook Creek. With floor-to-ceiling windows as well as an outdoor terrace, the design of the building capitalises on spectacular 180-degree views of Port Phillip, making it the perfect sunset bay backdrop for catching up with family and friends. The internal fit-out for the first-floor restaurant space is being brought to life by Breathe Architects, whose approach is leading a transformation in building design with environmental, social and economic sustainability at its heart.
Mayor Nathan Conroy said: “Positioned at the mouth of the Kananook Creek, with its boardwalk, boating ramp and famous bridge, the $11 million Frankston Yacht Club is an iconic, architecturally designed building that captures the absolute best of Frankston, including beach and bay views. The club is a wonderful asset for Frankston and we’ve already signed a tenant for the ground floor, with Oliver’s Corner beach bar and cafe scheduled to open soon. Now it’s time to kick it up a notch with a destination dining offering for the first floor to take the Frankston Yacht Club and the Frankston dining scene to the next level.”
Expressions of interest close on April 21. Find more information here.
This post was amended on March 16 to correct the closing date for expressions of interest.
