Sorrento is vying for the title of Australia’s top tourism town after winning the Victorian Top Small Tourism Town Award this week.

Sorrento, Red Hill South and Frankston have snapped up gold, silver and bronze in their respective categories at the 2023 Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards.  Held at the InterContinental Sorrento on Wednesday night, the Victorian Tourism Industry Council awards “recognise and celebrate towns that demonstrate a strong commitment to tourism and growing visitation, and that excel in providing an outstanding visitor experience”.

Sorrento was crowned the state’s Top Small Tourism Town (population 1500-5000) and will now go on to compete for the title of Australia’s Top Tourism Town at Parliament House in Canberra on September 14. Red Hill South won silver in the Top Tiny Tourism Town category (population under 1500), and Frankston took home bronze in the Top Tourism Town category (population over 5000).
